Loosing weight is essentially burning more calories than what you consume. This is no magic weight loss diet but a common sense approach of loosing weight in the form of fat and building muscle. Our body burns calories for all its natural functions through out the day; we also burn up calories for all our daily activities at home and at work. However, if we consume more calories than what we are burning up, this settles as extra weight and has to be worked off with exercise or reducing the amount of calories consumed.
A good way to start this is to make a not of everything you eat and find out how many calories you have consumed. If the number of calories is very high then there is no option but to reduce them, but if it is a nominal amount you will have to be physically active and burn off these calories. Often the metabolic rate of a person drops and even with fewer calories there will be no weight loss. This does not mean that you go in for a weight loss diet, but you will have to increase your metabolic rate. Eating smaller meals more often keeps the metabolism of the body going and you can burn off more calories this way.

This is by consuming negative calorie foods which require more number of calories to digest them than what they contain. If you eat your fill of these foods you automatically tend to burn up a whole lot of extra calories. Foods which have negative or minus calories are raspberries, strawberries, grapefruit, lettuce, oranges, apples, zucchini, turnip, spinach, papaya, garlic, carrot, cucumber, celery, cauliflower, cabbage, beets, broccoli and asparagus to name a few. Include these foods in your daily weight loss diet and your will have a glowing skin because of the antioxidants in many of the foods as well as loose weight by burning extra calories.
Avoid foods which have high calories even in limited quantities because these make it difficult for you to burn them off and are less satisfying. Instead consume low fat foods and foods with more of fiber content because this satisfies your hunger and you will not need to eat more often or larger quantities too. A weight loss diet needs a bit of calculations where in you see what you have eaten and how to work it off. If at any given time you have eaten a bit heavily and know that this is going to settle on your hips you can exercise extra and burn off these calories. Do not allow the fat deposit to settle on you but take precautions immediately. With a little bit of planning and the right kind of combination of foods and activities you are bound to be able to loose weight or maintain it at the level you want.
To have a constant healthy weight you should have a healthy life style and not go in for weight loss diets which are fads and promise quick reduction in weight. Instead change your lifestyle to one which helps you to maintain the right weight without having to resort to weight loss diets every now and then. True this is easier said then done, but with a little discipline it will become a way of life and you will not find it a strain later. Check out your eating habits and where you are going wrong with them. Often people avoid breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day, because they are hard pressed for time in the morning. This leads to a drop in sugar levels by mid morning and you tend to grab at a sweet sugary snack which will put your blood sugar levels up only to drop suddenly again.
A change in lifestyle would mean giving yourself a little more time in the mornings to eat a good breakfast. Maybe you cannot have the proverbial cereal, bread, eggs, fruit etc. as this would take too much time. Instead have a smoothie with skimmed milk or low fat yogurt, a few fruits and nuts or flax seed powder and this swill sustain you for much longer. Instead of white bread and products made of white flour change to multigrain and wheat products. Have fruit in place of a dessert and cut down the use of oil to the bare minimum. You will not need weight loss diets with these eating habits.
A good way to see where you are going wrong is to keep a diary and write down everything which you eat in it. Even if you have a nibble of something put it down. Do not cheat as this is cheating yourself. If you eat too much of a good food which is part of a healthy weight loss diet it adds up to your calories. If you are a member of a gym it is good, if not start walking short distances instead of using your car, take the steps whenever possible and do at least twenty minutes of working out at home. If all this sounds boring to you start taking dance lessons in an energetic form of dance. Avoid smoking, too much of alcohol consumption and getting stressed out. Exercise helps reduce stress and keeps you in a happy frame of mind. If you change your lifestyle and follow some healthy leads you will not have to indulge in any more weight loss diets, cut out the word diet from your daily life.
